Solar & Battery Products

Solar Panels
Solar panels are made from many solar cells connected together, with each solar cell producing DC (direct current) electricity when sunlight hits it.
At K.A.W Electrical & Solar we use quality solar panels with high wattage, excellent efficiencies and long-lasting warranties!
Our preferred solar panel brand:
Jinko Solar Panels: Great quality & decently priced. Comes with a complimentary 25-year warranty.
Winaico Solar Panels: Highly efficient, top quality. Comes with a complimentary product and performance warranty for 30 years.

Solar Battery
One way of maximising a household’s use of solar electricity, is to store it in a battery!
These battery systems can be set up to:
- Store energy from the solar power system, for you to use later on.
- Store electricity drawn from the grid, when prices are low.
- Power your home when black-outs occur.
- Charge from your solar power system in the day and discharge at night, to offset your usage.

Solar Inverter
In a nutshell, an Inverter takes electricity from a power source like solar panels that produces ‘DC’ electricity and converts it into mains-equivalent 230 volt ‘AC’ electricity. This electricity can be used instead of drawing from the electricity grid.
At K.A.W Electrical & Solar we only install top quality inverters, that come with a 10-year warranty. So, you can rest easy knowing you will be saving on your energy bills for many years to come.

Optimisers
Sometimes roof area constraints on a home or building may cause a solar panel to be shaded by an object such as a flu, stink pipe or trees.
By attaching a Solar Panel Optimiser to a shaded solar panel, it alleviates this issue.
This is because a solar optimiser will bypass the shaded solar panel and allow the solar PV system as a whole, to operate to its full potential.

Smart Meters
A Smart Meter for your solar PV system is an excellent choice and at K.A.W Electrical & Solar, we always recommend installing one!
A smart meter will help a solar monitoring system by giving accurate data in real time by showing production, consumption and export.
They can be in line from the mains grid or set up in a current transformer configuration.
Sometimes these smart meters may even need to be added, due to export limitation on a premises.

Solar Monitoring System
When it comes to a solar/battery system, a Solar Monitoring System is essential for the efficient management of usage and feed in.
It is the collection of real-time or interval data, on energy consumption and production.
Solar specialist Kirk can set you up with a Solar Monitoring System and teach you how to keep track of the performance of your solar/battery system.
This is a great practice to maintain! As it’s the best way to know that your system is always running at optimal performance.
