One way of maximising household use of solar electricity is to store it in a battery for use when you need it, rather than when it is generated. At K.A.W Electrical & Solar we install many different options on batteries. You can opt for a large battery bank or for a modular battery system, which means that you can start with just one battery unit and add more if and when needed.
These battery systems will run your home when black outs occur, they will also charge from your solar in the day and discharge at night to offset your usage.
Solar Inverter
In a nutshell, an inverter takes electricity from a power source that produces ‘DC’ electricity, such as solar panels or a battery system, and converts it into mains-equivalent 230 volt ‘AC’ electricity ready for use in your house.

A smart meter for your solar system is a good choice as it helps the solar monitoring system. It gives accurate data in real time to show your production, consumption and export. Some of these smart meters have to be added due to export limitation on a premises.
They can be in line from the mains grid or set up in a current transformer configuration. Regardless of the configuration these are an extra add on that helps your system and we always recommend to install one.
