It's my fascination with electricity and its mechanisms, a passion for quality workmanship combined with a keen interest in the art of fault-finding, which has led me to where I am today. Owner, A-grade electrician and an SAA-accredited solar and battery designer and installer.
18, fresh out of high school (short hair), I sought a career that would allow me to work with my hands and solve problems. Becoming an electrician ticked all those boxes.
My apprenticeship provided a strong foundation, with experience in testing air conditioning units and installing switchboards. From here, I then spent many years specialising in the installation and servicing of elevators and chairlifts. I even helped to install and maintain the inclinator at Cataract Gorge in Tasmania, Vic.
As I advanced from apprentice to A-grade electrician, I continuously expanded my knowledge and adapted to the ever evolving electrical world.
This commitment motivated me to pursue further experience & accreditations.
Today, I am an A-grade electrician, as well as a SAA accredited solar and battery designer and installer.
I truly appreciate the diversity within the electrical world.
Many people are unaware that electricians and accredited solar/battery specialists must actively stay current with residential and solar/battery developments to maintain their qualifications. This involves continuous professional development (CPD) points and practical, hands-on experience.
I am always up-to-date with the latest industry standards and innovations.
The heart of K.A.W Electrical & Solar is to share the extensive knowledge I've accumulated over 15+ years of hands-on experience, combined with the ongoing learning required to maintain my professional qualifications.
This is why, from the initial quote and installation to ongoing aftercare, my commitment is to provide you with expert advice and high-quality workmanship throughout the entire process.
Cheers,
Kirk 👍
